Events Handcart Days Parade Our team is going to be in the Handcart Days parade on July 23rd. It is in the evening. We are going to pull a boat with the coaches in the boat and the swimmers will walk behind. We need someone who can donate their time and boat to this opportunity. If you have a boat, or have access to a boat and can pull it in the parade, please let Heidi know as soon as possible. SDAT July 2010 SC Last Chance We will be having a home meet on Friday July 16th. The meet will be one day instead of two days, that was originally planned. Swimmers can swim up to 4 events. This meet will allow "No Times" so everyone on the team can attend this meet. Just a reminder that you must be USA registered to attend this meet. If you have any questions about being registered please let Coach Dale know. This will be the last meet before the state championshsips at the end of the month. The meet info is attached, please return the entry form by Monday July 12 by 6 PM. SDAT July 2010 SC Last Chance form Fitter & Faster Tour Get excited, because we are going to be hosting the Fitter & Faster Tour right here at the South Davis Recreation Center in Bountiful, UT on Saturday, July 10, 2010! You definitely don’t want to miss this swimming opportunity of a lifetime! Hosting the event will be Olympic Medalist Gold Medalist and five-time NCAA Champion Misty Hyman, and three-time Olympic Champion and five-time Olympic Medalist, Ian Crocker. Please RSVP with the information you would like to be put in the directory. If you choose not to be in the directory please indicate that. We will only put those you have said yes and only the information you choose. Pre Comp Changes 1) The pre comp team will now be called the Developmental Team 2) The Developmental Team will still be divided into two teams. The pre juniors (the 4-5 group) will be renamed as the Developmental Gold Team. The pre comp team ( the 5-6 group) will be called the Developmental Silver Team. The swimmers will still swim at the same times and the same place. During spring break swimmers will swim from 7-8 AM and 8-9 AM. 3) The pre comp championships held on April 17th will be the last Salt Lake County Rec League swim meet that our team will be attending. We will no longer be swimming in the Salt Lake County Rec League after April 17th. 4) From now on all swimmers must be USA swimming registered.. The annual calendar fee is $60. Swimmers need to be registered with USA swimming as soon as possible. Registration forms and $ should be returned to Coach Dale. DO NOT mail in the form to the address stated on the registration form. A 2010 athlete registration form is attached. Our club code is SDAT and our club name is the South Davis Aquatics Team. 5) Swimmers will compete in USA sponsored meets instead of pre comp meets 6) We have formed a new swim league called the northern utah developmental league for all teams in nothern utah and the Wasatch Front Fish Market (they swim at the Fairmont Aquatic Center in Sugarhouse). 7) The northern utah league will have developmental meets. These meets will be more competitive than the pre comp meets. Some characteristics of the new league include: the meets have more swimmers, there will be officials (so the swimmers will get DQ'ed if the strokes are not swum legally. Some other differences are there are no 25's swum, and the 13 and older kids must swim longer distances. In the 13 and over age groups the only event that is 50 yards is the 50 yard free. There will be also be more events offered for all the swimmers, like the 200 freestyle. 8) I am also attaching a summer schedule that is a tentative schedule, due to the fact that this league is just starting there may be changes. The team will still try to attend only one meet a month.
