South Davis Aquatics Team
SDAT Tusnami is divided into six different levels of team swimming. Each with an expressed purpose of building upon the previous level so as to create a natural progression within the team. All South Davis Aquatics Team swimmers are required to be current in their USA Swimming Registrations regardless of the team for which they swim. In compliance with the Utah Swimming requirements, the South Davis Recreation Center has made this registration mandatory and all swimmers must be registered in order to work out with the team and swim for the club. No exceptions. This is a yearly fee of $60.
Bronze Team
The purpose of the Bronze Team is to act as a bridge between swim lessons and competition swimming. This is a preparation period in which a swimmer can get a glimpse of many new aspects in the sport of swimming. The focus of the Bronze Team is to develop and refine strokes and to introduce flip turns. Practice schedule is as follows: 6:00-6:45pm Monday-Thursday. Swimmers are encouraged to come to as many practices as possible hopefully participating in 2-3 practices a week.
Silver Team
The Silver Team is the next level of swimming in this progression. The focus of the Silver Team is to continue to refine stroke technique, introduce the concept of endurance, and to continue fostering the love of the sport. Participation in developmental swim meets at this level is encouraged. Practice schedule is as follows: 5:00-6:00pm Monday-Friday. Swimmers are encouraged to come to as many practices as possible hopefully participating in 3-4 practices a week.
Gold Team
The focus of the Gold Team is to build upon the achievements of the Silver Team with added emphases on increasing stamina in preparation for higher level competition. Participation in developmental swim meets at this level is encouraged. Practice schedule is as follows: 4:00-5:00pm Monday-Friday. Swimmers are encouraged to come to as many practices as possible hopefully participating in 3-4 practices a week.
Junior Team
Continuing the progression of swim levels is the Junior Team. The focus of the Junior Team is to strengthen strokes, increase endurance, and develop racing strategies. This is a higher level of competition. Participants are expected to be on time to practice and participate in dryland workouts. Participation in competitive swim meets are encouraged and sometimes required. Participants will be automatically moved up to the Senior Team upon their 13th birthday. Practice times are as follows: 4:00-6:00pm Monday-Friday, 7:00-9:00am Saturday. Swimmers are encouraged to come to as many practices as possible hopefully participating in 3-4 practices a week.
Senior Team
The Senior Team is for participants 13 years of age and older. The Senior Team is equal to the Junior Team concerning its requirements but with a higher level of workouts, demands, and expectations. Swimmers are expected to be on time to practice and participate in dryland workouts. Participants are older and are usually ready to move on to the next level of swimming. This is a great place for high school swimmers to come and better their swimming abilities. Please note this is not high school swimming, this is club swimming. All participants must be registered SDAT swimmers and all paperwork and fees are mandatory. Practice times are as follows: 4:00-6:00pm Monday-Friday, 7:00-9:00am Saturday. Swimmers are encouraged to come to as many practices as possible hopefully participating in 4-5 practices a week.
National Team
The National Team is a high level competitive swim team for those who are ready to take their swimming to the next level such as competing at Zones, Sectionals, and National Meets. This team is by invitational only, meaning the coach must invite participants to be a part of this team. In order to remain in good standing and to secure your spot on the National team, participants are required to make the mandatory minimum 7 out of the 10 workouts each week. Swimmers will be required to participate in dryland workouts as well as morning, afternoon, and Saturday practices. Participation in most meets is mandatory. Please note this is not high school swimming, this is club swimming. All participants must be registered SDAT swimmers and all paperwork and fees are mandatory. Practice times are as follows: M, T, Th, & F, mornings, 4:00-6:00pm M-F, 7:00-9:00am Saturday. These are general times, please check the team calendar for a specific practice time schedule.
